Colorado GM vehicle owners who were affected by faulty GM ignition switches may have the ability to seek punitive damages. However, a judge ruled that the affected individuals would have to prove that the company knew about the faulty ignition switches but attempted to cover the problems up after it emerged from a 2009 bankruptcy.
Colorado residents who own Honda vehicles may be interested to learn that Honda Motor Co has issued another recall, this time involving 4.5 million of its cars due to hazardous airbag inflators. So far, eight deaths have been linked to the defective Takata Corp airbag inflators in Honda vehicles. It is unclear if there have been any lawsuits filed because of Takata airbag inflators.
On May 27, Ford announced that it was recalling more than 440,000 vehicles due to problems with their power steering as well as heat-shielding issues. According to the report, the recall involves a number of sedans, crossovers and the 2015 Ford Mustang.
