The prevalence of speed-related traffic accidents

According to 2012 data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speed contributed to 30 percent of all fatal car accidents in that year, resulting in 10,219 deaths. This was a 2 percent increase over the previous year, in which 10,001 people died in speed-related collisions. In Colorado, there were 472 crash fatalities overall, and 162 of them were in speed-related crashes.

New medical tests reveal brain damage to risk for athletes

Medical researchers at Stanford University have discovered that even mild head injuries can be very serious for athletes in Colorado and across the nation. According to their study, the brain may become injured by smaller bumps in a different way than what was previously thought.

1 dead, 2 injured in 2-vehicle wreck on Colorado highway

Colorado State Troopers report that an accident on E-470 in Aurora during the afternoon hours of June 7 left two people injured and one dead. Authorities do not believe that weather conditions, alcohol or drugs played a role in the fatal crash.

Ford Motors recalls 440,000 vehicles for safety issues

On May 27, Ford announced that it was recalling more than 440,000 vehicles due to problems with their power steering as well as heat-shielding issues. According to the report, the recall involves a number of sedans, crossovers and the 2015 Ford Mustang.
