Answering the question:Why do I need an attorney for this?

(1)You do not know all you need to know to get the compensation you deserve.

a. Even if you know what the word subrogation is, and few people do, it undoubtedly will play a major role in how much money ends up in your pocket.

b. If you are in an auto accident you probably don’t know how many different insurance policies might cover your injuries. Most would simply assume the driver who caused the accident will cover it.

c. Underinsured motorist coverage has a host of legal issues.

(2) The folks you will be negotiating with know that you do not know all that you need to know to get the compensation you deserve.
a. And, they will take advantage of this fact. E.g., subrogation

(3) As long as you don’t have an attorney on the case, the folks you will be negotiating with will assume that you are unwilling to invest in the case what it takes to get the compensation you deserve. It is an admission that you will settle for less.

(4) If you choose your attorney carefully, you should be able to find an attorney who will garner the respect of insurance adjusters and/or defense attorneys.

(5) Your attorney will take care of the fight and you will be able to take care of yourself.
